Chris has been teaching survival techniques for over 20 years and has been training in survival since the age of 7, when his father, a survival expert with the British Special Forces, began to educate Chris in this field.

A life of survival training has since been passed on to Chris in areas such as navigation techniques, Cartography, plant and fungi identification with practical uses, shelter building, trapping and hunting, arctic survival techniques, coastal survival and climbing.

Upon finishing school Chris moved away from civilisation and chose to spend much of his time living off the natural resources around him without a typical home or house to call base. Instead Chris spent his time in the deep countryside living in shelters he'd built himself
in places like Ben Nevis (Scotland), Devon, Dartmoor, Exmoor and Cornwall.

Chris hasn't been interested in survival as just a hobby or an interest, he's actually been living it as part of his everyday life, he did this for 15 years. Walking through the countryside and recognising wild plants, is for him comparable to walking through a supermarket and recognising bananas, This makes chris very unique.

Whilst Chris was living off the land, he offered tourists his services as a guide and running small survival courses and in 1989 formed a survival school in Guildford, Surrey trading as 'Guildford survival school' .

It was a round this time Chris was introduced by his father, to John Wiseman - (The Godfather of survival training) who refined Chris's expertise in all aspects of survival.
